  • Provides a rich feature set at an affordable price.
  • Formaloo is constantly evolving, with ongoing updates and new features added regularly.

What is Formaloo?

It can be frustrating when you want to create professional-looking forms without messing with coding. But that’s where Formaloo comes in!

Formaloo is a no-code form builder for creating forms, surveys, and quizzes, to help businesses collect and manage data. It has a user-friendly interface that lets you build applications without any programming skills.

Launched in 2020, the company was founded by a team in Iran who noticed a gap in the market for more flexible, data-focused form solutions. What really caught my attention was how they approached form building differently from the typical drag-and-drop builders we’re all used to.

The most impressive thing about Formaloo isn’t just the form building (though it’s super intuitive), but the built-in analytics dashboard that automatically organizes responses into actionable insights. No more exporting data to spreadsheets!

Key Differentiating Features

What sets Formaloo apart from other form builders are some of its key features.

The conditional logic options are advanced, allowing you to create dynamic forms and surveys. It provides both basic and advanced logic modes for complex multi-condition workflows.

Plus, they’ve built in some robust automation capabilities with over 3,000 applications. You can automatically send response data to other tools like Slack or Google Sheets!

One thing that really impressed me was Formaloo’s focus on data privacy and security. Unlike some other platforms, Formaloo gives you control over where your data is stored. It offers features like HIPAA compliance, GDPR compliance, and AES-256 encryption. This is crucial for anyone who handles sensitive information.

The visual customization options are extensive too. You can create surveys that match your client’s brand perfectly, right down to the fonts and colors.

If you’re considering Formaloo, it’s particularly useful when dealing with complex data collection needs or if you want more control over your form analytics.

How to Use Formaloo

Here’s how I used Formaloo to easily create a customizable form:

  1. Create a Free Account
  2. Set Up Your Account
  3. Explore the Templates
  4. Select a Template
  5. Customize Your Form
  6. Set Up Conditional Logic
  7. Share Your Form
  8. View the Analytics Dashboard

Step 1: Create a Free Account

I started by going to formaloo.com and selecting “Create a free account.”

Step 2: Set Up Your Account

Setting up my Formaloo account by providing my name.

After creating an account, Formaloo walked me through a series of basic questions to set up my account. This included providing my name, naming my workspace, specifying my subdomain, and inviting collaborators.

Step 3: Browse the Templates

Selecting "Templates" from the Formaloo dashboard.

From there, I was taken to my dashboard! I liked how clean and simple it was.

At the top, I could choose a template, import files, or create a new Formaloo project from scratch (you can create a form, survey, dashboard, CRM, customer portal, or HR portal). All of my projects would be easily accessible below.

I started by exploring the templates Formaloo had to offer by selecting “Templates” at the top. There are 200+ templates to choose from in almost every industry!

Step 4: Select a Template

Selecting one of the Formaloo templates.

I usually browse through their template gallery when creating forms with Formaloo, because why reinvent the wheel? They’ve got templates for everything from customer feedback to event registration.

After all, even if a template isn’t exactly what you need, it’s often easier to modify one than to start from zero.

Selecting and using one of the templates offered by Formaloo.

Click on the template you want, preview it, and hit “Use Template.”

Selecting "Edit Form" on a Formaloo template.

Select your workspace, and hit “Edit Form.”

Step 5: Customize Your Form

Editing a form on Formaloo.

Now for the fun part: customization. You’ll spend most of your time in the form editor.

The right sidebar contains all your field options divided into three categories: Settings, Design, and Notify.

  • Settings: The settings enable a fully active form where you can choose the language, set a timer, set IP restrictions, integrate payments, save AI-generated responses, customize with SEO, and enable tracking codes, all while allowing partial submissions and redirection to a specified URL.
  • Design: The design settings allow you to choose between two forms: classic or one question at a time. You can also choose a layout, choose the background image, and customize your buttons.
  • Notify: The notify section includes email notifications and autoresponders, Slack integration for channel or individual alerts, and a webhook to receive response data on your infrastructure.

Changing the colors of a form made with Formaloo.

Within the Design tab, you can also use the color pickers to choose colors that match your brand (or your client’s brand) perfectly. Just pop in the hex codes, and you’re good to go!

Adding a new field to a Formaloo form.

The form itself is also very editable. Hover over any element and click to edit it.

You can also click “Add new field” to add text, contact information, form elements, and more!

Step 6: Set Up Conditional Logic

Setting up conditional logic in Formaloo.

One feature that’s an absolute game-changer is the conditional logic setup. To activate it, just hit “Publish” on the top right.

From there, click on any question you want to apply logic to. In the sidebar that opens, click on the “Logic” tab. This is where you can add rules to make fields appear or disappear based on previous answers!

For example, you can create a customer feedback form that only shows restaurant-specific questions if someone selects “dined in” versus “ordered delivery.”

Step 7: Share Your Form

Highlighting the sharing options on Formaloo.

When you’re ready to share your form (hit “Share” on the top right), Formaloo gives you some options:

  • Grab the direct link
  • Embed it on your website (I love the chatbot widget)

Remember to test your form by hitting “View” on the top right to preview your form before sharing it!

Here’s my testing checklist before publishing any form:

  1. Submit a test response to verify all fields work
  2. Check how it looks on mobile devices
  3. Verify all notification emails are working
  4. Test any integrations you’ve set up
  5. Double-check your logic jumps

Step 8: View the Analytics Dashboard

Selecting a form from the Formaloo dashboard.

One last thing about form submissions: the analytics dashboard is incredibly useful for tracking responses. You can view individual submissions or see aggregate data visualizations. This is really helpful when running surveys and quickly understanding trends in the responses.

To access your form’s analytics, head back to your dashboard and select your form.

Within the Responses table, you can analyze data collected from submissions.

The key to mastering Formaloo is really just diving in and experimenting. Don’t be afraid to try different features and settings! Their support documentation is pretty comprehensive if you get stuck.

However, Fillout stands out with its customizable, eye-catching designs. It allows for full white-labeling of your forms and integrates effortlessly with a variety of third-party tools like Google Sheets, Slack, and HubSpot. Meanwhile, Formaloo offers a broad range of functionalities, including an AI analytics hub and workflow automation capabilities.

Both platforms offer no-code form builders. They also provide customization options and the ability to create business applications.

However, Formaloo stands out with its advanced AI capabilities and data analytics. You can build custom AI tools and access AI analytics for deep insights. Formaloo also offers more extensive customization options, including custom CSS for advanced styling.

Meanwhile, Jotform is known for its user-friendly interface and extensive template library. It integrates with various third-party tools and offers a robust set of features for form creation and data management.

For access to AI analytics, custom AI tool creation, and extensive business application capabilities, choose Formaloo. For an established platform with a wide range of templates and integrations, choose Jotform!

Typeform’s Formless

The final Formaloo alternative I’d recommend is Typeform. Typeform makes it easy to create engaging surveys and forms with a modern, step-by-step approach.

On the one hand, Typeform stands out with its user-friendly interface and visually appealing “one question per page” format, which is particularly effective for surveys and mobile users. It integrates well with various third-party tools, making it a popular choice for quick surveys and questionnaires.

Meanwhile, Formaloo offers a broader range of functionalities, including advanced AI-powered analytics, custom AI tool creation, and extensive business application capabilities. Formaloo also provides more robust automated scoring and logic options for more complex forms and quizzes.

For AI-powered analytics, custom AI generators, and comprehensive business solutions without response limits, choose Formaloo. For beautiful, engaging surveys with a focus on user experience and simplicity, choose Typeform!

Formaloo Review: The Right Tool For You?

After using Formaloo, I can confidently say it’s an excellent tool for businesses that need more than just basic form-building.

Its ability to create forms, surveys, dashboards, and even CRMs in one place makes it a powerful option. While it has some design limitations, its advanced logic, automation, and data analytics make it a strong choice for data-driven businesses.

If you need a no-code solution that goes beyond simple form collection, Formaloo is a fantastic option. But if you’re just looking for a quick and pretty form, one of its competitors might be a better fit:

  • Typeform’s Formless is best for creating engaging, conversational-style data collection for surveys, quizzes, and lead generation. It’s great for marketers who want to improve user experience.
