The inaugural Black Women in Music Dinner, hosted by the Connie Orlando Foundation, was a stunning celebration of the Black women shaping the music industry—and I was truly honored to be in the room.
Held during BET Awards weekend, the intimate dinner brought together trailblazers from all corners of the industry to recognize not only their incredible contributions to music, but also their efforts in uplifting the community. The evening doubled as a fundraiser supporting breast cancer awareness and research, blending purpose with power.
The brilliant and illustrious Connie Orlando, who graciously invited me, stunned in a Givenchy Large-Sequin Short-Sleeve Cocktail Dress, effortlessly setting the tone for an evening filled with elegance and intention.

The Connie Orlando Foundation has a mission to empower underserved communities through education, mentorship, and health advocacy, brought depth and purpose to the night’s festivities.
Niecy Nash lit up the room with her infectious personality, and presented June Ambrose with the Guardian of Vision Award in a gold Andrew Gn dress. Perhaps who was better deserving of such an award than June who has impacted and shaped the fashion and music industry at large. Ambrose opted for an all black Bible Mohapatra ensemble that was singular, and fashion-forward.

Ciara also made a glowing entrance alongside her daughter Sienna in matching black Bishme Cromartie suits, while Lori Harvey brought effortless cool to the carpet in a white Alexander McQueen maxi dress that had texture.

Muni Long’s presence was as radiant as her voice and she showed out in a striped bodycon mini dress by Hanifa. Her clear heels and updo hairstyle were the perfect components to tie her look together.

It was a joy to be surrounded by so many inspiring women, each bringing something unique to the table. For the occasion, I wore a vibrant color-blocked Spring 2025 dress by Christian Siriano, styled with a matching clutch from the designer and silver heels by Jessica Rich.

I would like to personally thank Connie, for seeing me and giving flowers to so many phenomenal women who are not only defining the soundtrack of our lives but reshaping the industry from within.
The Black Women in Music Dinner was more than a moment—it was a movement. And I left feeling inspired, grateful, and proud to witness what happens when Black women come together to celebrate, honor, and uplift one another.
